In recent years, Nepal has been facing serious problems due to uncontrolled deforestation. The destruction of forests has resulted in environmental imbalance, increased impact of climate change, land erosion, floods, landslides, and other natural disasters. The loss of greenery has affected not only biodiversity but also agriculture, livelihoods, and daily life.
Keeping these challenges in mind, Naya Kadam Nepal (New Etep Nepal) has prioritized environmental protection and launched a tree-planting campaign in open spaces.
Controlling increasing deforestation: To restore rapidly declining forest areas caused by random and unmanaged cutting, the organization is working with local communities to carry out plantation activities in various locations.
Utilizing barren and open land: The campaign aims to enhance environmental beauty by planting trees in parks, school premises, roadside areas, and community open spaces.
Climate protection: Trees absorb carbon, reduce temperature, purify air, and help regulate rainfall patterns. The organization is promoting this initiative as a long-term climate solution.
Community participation: Local residents, students, youths, women’s groups, and volunteers are actively involved, making the campaign a community-driven movement.
Long-term care system: Instead of just planting saplings and leaving them, Naya Kadam Nepal has adopted a “Plant & Protect” model, ensuring proper watering, care, safety, and monitoring of every planted tree.
Green future for the next generations: This campaign aims to create a healthier and more balanced environment for future generations.
At a time when Nepal is experiencing increasing environmental challenges, the tree-planting initiative launched by Naya Kadam Nepal is not just a project—it is a collective commitment to protecting nature.
